Worship Song: "Give Me Faith" by Elevation Worship ⬅️ Click the link to Listen
Reading: Matthew 6:1-4 (NLT)
Devotional: Jesus warns us about performing righteous acts for human approval. He emphasizes that giving should be done secretly because God sees the unseen. Spiritual discipline starts in the heart. When we focus on pleasing God rather than people, our giving reflects His generosity rather than our need for recognition. The true reward is knowing we are honoring God and being shaped into His image.
Reflection:
Do you struggle with seeking approval from others when doing good?
How can you shift your mindset to focus on pleasing God alone?
3-Step Application:
Give anonymously this week—whether financially, through service, or by encouraging someone without seeking recognition.
Spend time in prayer, asking God to refine your heart and motives in giving.
Reflect on God’s generosity toward you and how you can model that in your life.
Closing Prayer: "Lord, search my heart and purify my motives. Please help me to give freely without seeking approval or recognition. I want to honor You alone with my generosity. Teach me to find joy in serving You in secret, knowing that You see and reward those who seek You. In Jesus' name, Amen."
