Week 2 Day 3: The Source of Our Growth

Updated: Feb 25

Worship Song: Build My Life – Pat Barrett ⬅️ Click link to listen

Reading: Galatians 3:1-3, Colossians 3:9-13

Devotional: Today's readings remind us that our spiritual growth is not solely our own work, but primarily God's work in us. Paul admonishes the Galatians for trying to achieve spiritual maturity through human effort alone. Instead, we're called to "put on our new nature" and allow God to renew us.

This doesn't mean we're passive in our growth. Rather, we cooperate with God's Spirit, allowing Him to transform us from the inside out. Our role is to be open, willing, and obedient to His leading.

Reflection: How have you seen God working in your life recently? Are there areas where you've been relying too much on your own efforts?

3-Step Application:

  1. Choose one characteristic from Colossians 3:12 (compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, or patience) to focus on today.

  2. Ask God to develop this trait in you.

  3. Look for an opportunity to practice this characteristic in your interactions.

Closing Prayer: Father, I surrender my growth to You. Renew my heart and transform me into the person You want me to be. Amen.
