Day 3: Walking in Expectation

Writer's picture: Forward ChurchForward Church

Reading: Isaiah 40:31 (NLT)

"But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint."

Devotional: Waiting on God’s promises doesn’t mean sitting idly—it means walking in expectation. Faith requires action, even when we don’t see immediate results. Like a runner training for a race, we must actively prepare our hearts, minds, and lives for the fulfillment of God’s Word. As we trust in Him, He renews our strength and empowers us to keep moving forward.

Reflection:

  • What does it look like for you to walk in expectation today?

  • Are there areas in your life where you need renewed strength?

3-Step Application:

  1. Begin your day by declaring that you are walking in faith, not fear.

  2. Take one practical step toward what God has called you to do, even if it seems small.

  3. End your day with gratitude, thanking God in advance for His promises being fulfilled.

Closing Prayer: Lord, I choose to walk in faith and expectation. Strengthen me when I feel weak and remind me that Your promises are worth the wait. I trust in Your perfect plan. In Jesus' name, Amen.
