Day 2: Renewing Our Minds

Reading: Ephesians 4:17-24

Devotional: Paul calls us to “be made new in the attitude of your minds.” This renewal is not a one-time event but an ongoing process. Consider what it means to have your mind renewed by Christ. What thoughts or attitudes do you need to let go of? What truths from God’s Word do you need to embrace more fully? Remember, renewal is the work of the Holy Spirit within us. Today, invite the Spirit to transform your thinking and align it with God’s truth. Be mindful of your thought patterns and actively seek to bring them under Christ’s lordship.

Illustration: Think of a computer being updated with new software. Without regular updates, the system becomes outdated and inefficient. Similarly, our minds need constant renewal through God’s Word to stay spiritually effective.

3-Step Application:

  1. Identify one recurring negative thought and replace it with a truth from Scripture.

  2. Memorize Ephesians 4:23: “Let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.”

  3. Set an alarm for midday to pause and reflect on your thought patterns, surrendering any that aren’t aligned with Christ.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, renew my mind today. Transform my thoughts and attitudes so they reflect Your truth. Help me to let go of what hinders and embrace what leads to life in You. Amen.
