Reading:

📖 Colossians 3:17 (NLT) – "And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father."

Devotional:

Many people see work as a necessary evil—a means to pay the bills or get through the week. But in reality, work was designed by God long before sin entered the world. Adam was placed in the Garden of Eden to work and steward creation (Genesis 2:15). Work isn’t just about making money; it’s about reflecting God’s image in everything we do.

When we approach work with the mindset that our jobs are acts of worship, our attitudes shift. Whether in an office, at home, in ministry, or in the community, your work has purpose. You’re not just working for a paycheck but for the Lord.

Reflection:

  • Do you view your work as an opportunity to worship God?

  • How does knowing that God designed work before sin change your perspective?

  • What would change if you saw your workplace as a mission field?

3-Step Application:

1️⃣ Start your workday with prayer. Ask God to help you work with excellence and integrity.

2️⃣ Change your perspective. Instead of working for people, work as if Jesus were your direct boss.

3️⃣ Be a light at work. Look for opportunities to serve, encourage, and uplift your coworkers.

Closing Prayer:

Father, thank You for giving me the ability to work. Help me to see my work as more than just a job but as an opportunity to glorify You. Teach me to work with excellence, integrity, and a grateful heart. Let my actions reflect Your love and presence in my workplace. In Your Sons Jesus’ name, Amen.
