Reading: 2 Corinthians 13:5-6
Devotional: As we begin this new year, let’s pause to examine our hearts. Paul urges us to “examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith.” This isn’t about guilt or shame but about honest reflection. Are we truly living out our faith? Are we growing in Christ-likeness? Take time today to reflect on your spiritual life. Ask God to reveal areas in your life that need growth or change. Remember, this self-examination is a gift—an opportunity to draw closer to God and to become more like Christ. Celebrate the ways God has been faithful and use this reflection as a springboard for spiritual growth in the year ahead.
Illustration: Think of a gardener inspecting a plant. They examine the soil, prune dead branches, and check for healthy growth. Likewise, we must inspect the soil of our hearts, prune sinful habits, and nurture what brings spiritual life.
3-Step Application:
Find a quiet place and spend 10 minutes in prayer, asking God to reveal areas that need His touch.
Write down one area where you feel God is calling you to grow.
Share this insight with someone you trust for encouragement and accountability.
Prayer: Lord, as I examine my heart today, reveal any areas that are not aligned with Your will. Help me to grow in Christ-likeness and to walk in faith and obedience. Thank You for Your faithfulness and love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
